The first day of INNOVATE 2023, Capture Higher Ed’s recent virtual conference for recruitment marketing leaders and professionals, closed with an outstanding panel discussion on emerging trends in digital advertising and how they might be applied to student recruitment.
For the conversation, Tabitha Talbot, Capture’s director of digital marketing, welcomed three experts from across multiple digital advertising mediums, including Jennifer Lonchar, co-founder of AmbioEdu; Chris Pattison, co-founder and CEO of Squeaky AI; and Stacy Griggs, CEO of El Toro.
What followed was an interesting and useful discussion on “what’s next” on the ever-changing digital horizon. Subjects included:
- Using behavioral data to advertise effectively on streaming TV and gaming.
- Enhancing geography-based marketing opportunities, “especially as we move away from using cookies and privacy continues to be top of mind,” Talbot says.
- Utilizing advanced analytics to create landing pages that convert and help institutions grow their inquiry pools.
Finally, the experts offered some advice within their specific expertise on how universities can maximize their digital efforts in their recruiting efforts.
“We’re going to spend 45 minutes talking about the latest trends in digital advertising and how they might be used to recruit in the [university recruitment] marketing space,” Talbot says.
